Initial Thoughts:
I already know that in India most countries and cities, along with Mumbai, are very warm. Also, I believe that most countries in India have monsoon seasons. Also, I know that in India, they are working on making sure that every child can get the education they need, even if they can’t afford it. They are also making education mandatory. This relates to the United States because children are required to go to school and receive an education. I think that most states in India practice the same religions as Mumbai, including Hinduism and Buddhism. I also believe that many other neighboring countries and cities have landmarks like Mumbai that celebrate culture and religion.

Surrounding Regions:
Maharashtra, which is home to Mumbai, lives in the West India region. The other regions in India include North India, South India , CentralIndia, and East India. In Northern India the land is much flatter than around the coastlines and mid-India. The land levels out slowly, become flatter the farther north you go into India. The Western Ghats and Nilgiris Mountains run along the West Coast of India, passing through Mumbai. Along the Eastern Coast of India run the Eastern Ghat Mountains. In North West India, by Punjab, lays the That Desert and the Chota Nagpur Desert rests in North East India. While North West and North East India have desert, Mumbai and South West India receive tropical and wet weather, experiencing monsoon season annually. Unique Qualities of Mumbai: Mumbai, although similar to many neighboring cities and regions, has many unique aspects and qualities that make it different. While Delhi is the capitol of India, Mumbai is the business capitol of India and the most populated city in India. Because Mumbai is the business capitol in India, it is one of the wealthiest cities in the country. Also, Mumbai is one of the few megacities in India, along with Delhi and Kolkata. Common Characteristics: Mumbai shares many similarities with it's neighboring cities and regions. Mumbai shares common weather traits with its state Maharashtra. Maharashtra experiences monsoon season, like Mumbai, and they also share this season of rain with the West coastline and central India. India is a peninsula, so it is only on of the many cities resting along the coast. That means that the fishing and importing and exporting goods Mumbai does is common in other areas as well. I know that fishing is a main food source in Mumbai, which relates to the other cities along the coast where they can access the water. |

Reflection:
I learned that Mumbai is unique in many different ways, but it is also relatable to many other cities. Mumbai is similar to the cities along the coast in India because they all have access to water where they can fish. I believe this access is very important in Mumbai and other cities too because fish and other sea life make up a big part of the diet in these cities. Also, Mumbai is relatable to Delhi, India's capital, and Kolkata. These three cities all have a population over 10 million, making them mega cities.
